ABOUT THE CARTRIDGE

This system comes complete with 2 x Doulton Supersterasyl Ceramic Filter cartridges. The cartridge life is up to 2000 litres and you can replace the cartridges every 6 to 12 months depending on water quality & usage

The tiny pores of the ceramic filter known as depth filtration, make it extremely efficient at removing particulate matter and fine sediment. The tightly packed activated carbon will remove taste, odours and unwanted impurities through a process called adsorption. The ceramic wall of this filter cartridge has been impregnated with silver ions to prevent the growth of bacteria in the filter cartridge itself and also in the stored water.

THREE STAGE PURIFYING PROCESS

1. CERAMIC FILTRATION - The ceramic outer shell provides genuine sub-micron filtration of fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts & turbidity.

SCRUB CLEAN & REUSE

If the water quality is high in sediment & the water flow through the ceramic cartridge starts to slow, you can simply remove the ceramic cartridge & scrub it under a flowing tap with some 100 grit sandpaper to remove the sediments. The cartridge is quite think & can be scrubbed up to 100 times.

WHAT IS Super Sterasyl®?

The Sterasyl® ceramic shell is filled with granular activated carbon to produce the Super Sterasyl™ filter element. Among other things, activated carbon is very effective at removing chlorine and organics from water.

Super Sterasyl® uses granular activated carbon instead of an activated carbon block in order to give superior flow rates in a gravity filter.

EXTRA FLUORIDE REMOVAL CARTRIDGES

A great addition to the Doulton gravity water filter for Fluoride removal if you are using treated city or town water is the PF-4 Fluoride removal cartridges. 

The PF-4 Fluoride removal cartridges attach directly onto the ceramic cartridge threaded stem that hangs down inside the bottom tank. 

Simply screw the PF-4 cartridges onto the threaded ends of the ceramic cartridges and your system will be removing the fluoride from the water. Ensure you follow the instructions with the cartridge & flush as required.

Made to adsorb the following 4 elements most commonly found in drinking water:

• MTBE (Methyl-tertiary-butyl-ether
• Fluoride
• Lead
• Arsenic

They will also absorb:

• DBCP (Dibromo-chloro-propane)
• THM’s (Tryhalomethanes)
• Various Pesticides & Herbicides
• Heavy Metal Ions

UPGRADE TO A STAINLESS STEEL TAP

This water filter comes standard with a plastic tap. If you would prefer to have a strong stainless steel tap with a faster flow rate, that is easy to achieve, simply click the drop-down box above to select a stainless steel tap to be added to your filter. 

BE AWARE

Please note: this water filter system does not have any seal between the two tanks, therefore this filter can be overfilled if more water is added to the top tank than what can filter down and store into the bottom tank. Only ever fill the top tank with water that has room to filter down into the bottom tank.
