PLEASE ENSURE PLUMBER READS THIS IMPORTANT INSTALLATION INFORMATION BEFORE INSTALLATION

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE:

DO NOT USE SEALANT

Use plumber's thread tape only on the water filter threads. Do not use liquid, paste or other thread sealants on the filter inlet or outlet ports.

Incorrect sealing methods or over-tightening can damage or crack the inlet and outlet ports. A damaged or cracked port may not leak immediately and can begin leaking after installation.

Plumber's thread tape only — no sealants.

MAXIMUM PRESSURE

The water filter system's maximum working pressure is 500 kPa.

If the property's incoming water pressure is 500 kPa or higher, a suitable Pressure Reducing Valve (PRV) must be installed before the water filter system. The PRV must be correctly sized and set to ensure the pressure supplied to the water filter does not exceed 500 kPa.

Where the property is subject to water hammer or pressure surges, appropriate additional protection should be installed by a licensed plumber.

FLOW RATE

The water pressure and flow required will depend on the type of cartridge fitted inside the filter.

Sediment cartridges generally allow good water flow unless they become heavily loaded or blocked with sediment.

Fine-micron carbon block cartridges create greater resistance and require sufficient water pressure to maintain good flow through the home.

Standard suburban mains water pressure, or a correctly sized water pump, will normally provide suitable pressure and flow.

INSTALLING PRESSURE GAUGES

Take care when installing the pressure gauges.

Apply plumber's thread tape to the gauge thread only. Start the gauge carefully by hand to ensure the threads are correctly aligned and not cross-threaded. Tighten the gauge carefully until firm and correctly positioned.

If the gauge becomes tight before reaching the correct position, do not force it. Turn it back slightly, then carefully tighten it forward again until correctly installed.

Never use liquid, paste or other thread sealants on the gauge threads.

WATER BY-PASS

Install a by-pass water line, as shown in the installation diagrams. The by-pass allows water to continue flowing to the home while the water filter system is being serviced or maintained.

It is also good practice to occasionally open the by-pass line — such as when going away — to allow unfiltered water to flow through the home's original water pipework.

WATER FLOW DIRECTION

These water filters are set up to flow water from left to right. If you'd like it to flow the other way, you'll need to remove the bracket, turn it 180°, and refit it. This ensures the complete water filter housing is set up correctly once installed.

MAGNET INSTALLATION

Installation instructions for the magnet are included in the box.

There are three ways to install the magnet. Option 1 is preferred; if that's not possible, use Option 2; if neither is possible, use Option 3 (right).

OPTION 1: Clamp the Magnet Around the Water Meter Pipe

When to use: whenever the water meter pipe is accessible — the preferred method.

  • Locate the water meter at the front of the property.

  • Clamp the magnet directly around the water meter pipe where it is out of the ground.

Note: No digging needed. Garden/reticulation water also gets treated, and the pipe stays clean all the way to the home.

OPTION 2: Dig a Hole and Install via a Reticulation Box

When to use: if the water metre pipe isn't accessible — e.g. the water metre is buried underground.

  1. Find the pipe: work out which direction it runs, then dig down to it.

  2. Place the reticulation box over the exposed pipe.

  3. Remove just one of the magnet's two bolts — this lets the magnet swing open on the remaining bolt.

  4. Swing the magnet open, fit it around the pipe, then replace the bolt. Tighten both bolts firmly to lock the magnet in place.

  5. Pack dirt firmly around the reticulation box to hold it in place. Smooth the dirt, replace the box lid, and tidy the area.

OPTION 3: Clamp the Magnet at the Water Filter Inlet

When to use: if Options 1 and 2 aren't possible — e.g. a concrete driveway.

  • Locate the incoming water pipe on the upright, vertical section going into the water filter.

  • Clamp the magnet around that pipe just before the Limetron is installed.

Note: No digging required — once clamped, installation is complete.

LIMETRON INSTALLATION

Installation instructions for the Limetron are included in the box.

Install the Limetron water conditioner on the incoming water line, immediately before the water filter.
