This cartridge features a nipple at the top, connecting into the headcap, and no hole at the bottom. This design ensures that water can only enter the cartridge through the side and flow into the center core, providing optimal filtration.

Cartridge Information

Manufacturers rate filter cartridges in "microns," which is a measure of the pore size. Smaller micron ratings indicate a tighter filter, with the ability to capture finer particles. One-micron filters, for example, are suitable for drinking water only. However, these filters may not be practical for filtering large amounts of water as they may significantly reduce the flow rate.

In addition to the micron rating, filter cartridge manufacturers use terms like "absolute" and "nominal" to describe their products.
