Rainwater collected from rooftops and stored in tanks may look fresh and clean, but it can contain sediment, dirt, organic matter, bacteria, viruses and other contaminants introduced by birds, animals and the surrounding environment.

Unlike treated city water, rainwater is generally not disinfected before entering your home.

That's why this twin cartridge pack combines a 1 Micron Pleated Sediment Cartridge with the advanced Disruptor® BIO Filtration Cartridge.

The first cartridge captures sediment, dirt and larger particles, helping protect the Disruptor® BIO cartridge from premature blockage.

The second cartridge uses patented Disruptor® electroadsorption technology, advanced nanofibre filtration and additional BIO filtration media to target microscopic contaminants, including bacteria, viruses, selected PFAS compounds and heavy metals.

The pleated cartridge provides a large filtration surface area, helping capture these particles while maintaining water flow.

Cartridge Service Life

Stage 1: Pleated Sediment Cartridge

The service life of the 1 Micron Pleated Sediment Cartridge depends on the amount of sediment present in your rainwater supply and the volume of water used.

Rainwater tanks with higher sediment levels may require more frequent cartridge cleaning or replacement.

• Regular Inspection: Check the sediment cartridge periodically for accumulated dirt and debris.

• Cleaning: Gently rinse the cartridge where permitted by the manufacturer.

• Replacement: Replace the cartridge when cleaning no longer restores suitable water flow or when the manufacturer's recommended replacement interval is reached.

Stage 2: Disruptor® BIO Cartridge — Up to 300,000 Litres

The Disruptor® BIO 20" x 4.5" Cartridge has a stated service capacity of up to 300,000 litres, depending on incoming water quality, usage and operating conditions.

Replace every 12–18 months or at the rated service capacity, whichever comes first, unless the manufacturer's instructions or water conditions require earlier replacement.

Using the sediment cartridge before the Disruptor® BIO helps reduce sediment loading and may help prevent premature blockage.

• Inspect the Sediment Cartridge: Regularly check the first-stage cartridge for sediment accumulation.

• Clean or Replace as Required: Maintain the pleated sediment cartridge according to the manufacturer's instructions.
