How to Install & Flush 8” Filteroo® Rain & City Water Gravity Carbon Block Filter Cartridge
In this video, we'll walk you through the simple process of installing and flushing your 8” Filteroo® Rain & City Water Gravity Carbon Block Filter Cartridge. Follow our step-by-step instructions to ensure optimal performance and fresh, purified water.
- Remove the locking nut from the cartridge threaded stem leaving 1 sealing washer over the end of the cartridge threaded stem.
- Insert the filter cartridge threaded stem through the hole in the top tank from the inside out.
- Then secure by screwing the locking nut onto the threaded stem on the underside of the top tank until tight. Do not over tighten.
- Ensure that the tap is in the off position.
- Fill the top tank with cold water and allow this water to filter through to the lower tank.
- It is recommended to drain the first filtered water to waste as it may contain carbon fines.
- Open the tap and allow the water to empty the bottom tank into a bucket or container. You can use this water for your garden or plants.
- We recommend flushing at least 12 litres of water through the cartridge using the process in steps 5 - 8.
- The filter is now ready for use.

How to Assemble your 5.75" & 7" Ultra Fluoride Ceramic Water Filter Candles
- Place the sealing washer over the threaded mount.
- Place the filter candle mount stem through the hole in the upper section of the housing and secure it with a wing nut. Do not over-tighten
- Ensure that the outlet tap is in the off position.
- Fill the upper container with cold water and allow this to filter through. Our filter is made of a special ceramic and contains carbon granules; this means black particles may be visible when water filters through for the first time. Discard the first filtered water.
- Repeat the process and run at least 1 litre of water to waste per fitted filter, and continue running until the water is clear. Wipe the lower chamber with a clean cloth to remove any dust particles. The filter is now ready for use.
How To Install The Filteroo® Max Fluoride Removal Gravity Water Filter Cartridge
In this video, discover the simple steps to install the Filteroo® Max Fluoride Removal Gravity Water Filter Cartridge. Ensure your system is set up correctly for enhanced fluoride filtration and enjoy purer, healthier water with ease.
- Remove the plastic wrapping whilst keeping the cartridge clean. (Wash the cartridge outside if required before removing the thread end caps)
- Remove the end caps from each end of the cartridge.
- Sit the rubber flushing washer over the hole on 1 end of the cartridge. Hold the cartridge and washer as you press it up against the tap spout to get a good seal. Gently turn on the cold water and allow the water to flow into the cartridge & then out the other end to flush the fine particles out of the cartridge. Flush continuously for 1 minute.
- Turn the cartridge around and repeat above. Flush for a further 1 minute & ensure that the water flows clear. Repeat this process for all the Filteroo® MAX fluoride removal cartridges you intend to install.
- Once the cartridge is flushed, lift the top tank off your Filteroo® Steel bottom tank & sit the top tank upside down on the bench top. The Filteroo® MAX Fluoride Removal cartridge screws directly onto the exposed carbon cartridge threaded stem already installed. (Note - Only 1 end of the cartridge has a thread). The cartridge MUST be installed by the threaded end. Screw on the cartridge gently ensuring you do not cross the thread. Tighten until firm. Do not over tighten.
- Once the Filteroo® MAX fluoride removal cartridges have been installed, place the top tank back onto the bottom tank. The fluoride cartridges hang down inside the bottom tank. Now fill the top tank with water and allow that water to filter down through both the Filteroo® carbon cartridge & the Filteroo® MAX fluoride removal cartridges.
- Once the top tank water has emptied into the bottom tank. Discharge that water to waste or onto the garden.
- Then rinse the mineral pad under flowing water for a few seconds to rinse & remove any fine particles. Place the mineral pad onto the base of the bottom tank and your water filter is now ready to be refilled & used.
How to Setup Your Filteroo® ULTRAPURE 7" All in 1 Ceramic Gravity Water Filtration Candle
STEP 1: RINSING YOUR CARTRIDGE
- Open the ceramic gravity cartridge box and remove the cartridge from the box. (Treat the ceramic gravity cartridge like an egg). Without touching the white ceramic shell of the cartridge, hold the cartridge under a flowing tap or swirl the cartridge around in a container of clean water for 30 seconds to rinse off any ceramic fines from the outside of the cartridge. Once the cartridge is rinsed all over you can insert the cartridge back inside the plastic wrap. (Then as you install the cartridge the plastic wrap can protect the cartridge so as to not touch the cartridge with your bare hands).
STEP 2: INSTALL YOUR CARTRIDGE
Remove the locking nut from your cartridge
- Ensure the sealing washer is over the threaded mount
- Place the filter candle mount stem through the hole in the upper tank section of the housing from the inside out and secure it with a wingnut. Do not over tighten.
- You only need to tighten it enough to ensure you have a seal and no water passes around the threads or washers of the cartridge.
STEP 3: PUT IT ALL TOGETHER
- Place the top tank with the cartridge installed inside the top of the filter body. Ensure that the outlet tap is in the off position. Fill the top tank with cold water and allow this water to filter down through the cartridge into the lower bottom holding tank.
- It is recommended that this first supply of filtered water is thrown away, as it may contain material washed from the filter cartridge. Some black carbon fines may be seen in the bottom holding tank when first using, but this is harmless and will stop soon.
- Open the outlet tap and allow the water to run to waste. Fill the top tank again, open the outlet tap and allow this water to run to waste also. We recommend filling the top tank at least 3 times (OR flush at least 8 litres/2.11 gallons depending on the size of your top tank) and flushing that water through the cartridge to waste until it is running clear. For the best flushing results and taste please feel free to flow more tanks of water through the cartridge until tasty. (All flushing water can be used on plants).
Your Filteroo Ultrapure All in 1 Ceramic Cartridge is now ready to use.
Cleaning Your Filter
Due to filtration of particulate contaminants from the water during use, the flow of water from the filter cartridge may reduce. To restore the flow, the filter cartridge can be scrubbed clean.
- Wash and Dry hands before handling the used filter cartridge.
- Remove the cartridge in accordance with the filter cartridge installation instructions by unscrewing the wingnut.
- Take care at all times to not to contaminate the threaded part of the mount or washer with unfiltered water.
- Place Cartridge under a running tap or in a bowl of clean water. Hold the ceramic only under the clean water and evenly scour with the scouring pad provided and rinse the surface.
The candle is now ready for replacement into the filter housing in accordance with the filter installation instructions.
