How to Install the Filteroo® ULTRAPURE 7" Ceramic Gravity Water Filtration Candle
Installing your Filteroo® ULTRAPURE filter is quick and easy. Simply follow these steps:
Step 1: Rinse the Cartridge
- Carefully remove the filter from its packaging.
- Hold the ceramic filter under running water or swirl it in a container for about 30 seconds to rinse off any ceramic dust. Be sure not to touch the white ceramic part.
Step 2: Install the Cartridge
- Remove the locking nut from the filter.
- Place the sealing washer over the threaded mount.
- Insert the filter into the upper tank, then secure it with a wingnut. Tighten just enough to prevent water from leaking.
Step 3: Set Up the Filter
- Place the top tank with the installed filter into the filter body. Ensure the outlet tap is in the off position.
- Fill the top tank with room temperature tap water and allow it to filter into the bottom holding tank.
- For the first use, discard the filtered water as it may contain some loose particles from the filter.
- Repeat the flushing process by filling the top tank and allowing the water to flow through the filter to the quantity of 12 litres of water or until it runs clear. You can use this water for plants.
Once you've completed these steps, your Filteroo® ULTRAPURE filter is ready to use!
How to Clean Your Filteroo® ULTRAPURE Filter
Over time, your filter may accumulate contaminants, causing a reduction in water flow. To restore its performance:
- Wash and dry your hands before handling the used filter.
- Follow the removal instructions to take out the filter.
- Gently scrub the ceramic surface with a scouring pad under running clean water, ensuring not to contaminate the threaded parts.
- Once cleaned, reinstall the filter according to the setup instructions.
