Reverse Osmosis Water Filters in Australia have been a popular solution for Fluoride (and all the nasty contaminants) for many years.
Whether you're pro or con, there's no disagreement that this common contaminant is present among our drinking water sources - but many people all over Australia are choosing something different now!
A Reverse Osmosis Water Filter is an excellent way to remove fluoride and all other harmful contaminants found in our water supply in Australia.
And best of all? It won't cost much more than what we spend now on bottled drinks at restaurants/cafes each month. Remember, everything adds up.
Reverse Osmosis water filters are a great way to remove impurities and ensure that you're getting clean, safe water.
Whether you're looking to improve the taste of your water, remove harmful contaminants, or simply have peace of mind about what you're drinking, a Reverse Osmosis water filter may be just what you need.
What is Reverse Osmosis?
Untreated water is pushed through a semi-permeable membrane removing up to 99.9% of all organic solids in the water. With a Reverse Osmosis Filter, you can have peace of mind knowing that the drinking water in your home will nurture your family’s health, not just quench thirst.
Common contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, dirt, metals, chemicals, pesticides, nitrates, chlorine, fluoride and many more are completely removed with a trusty Reverse Osmosis system.
Reverse Osmosis is the best water filter to improve the taste and quality of your drinking water.
In this video, we dive deep into Reverse Osmosis Water Filters, comparing the most popular models and explaining how they work. From the basics of sediment, carbon, and membrane stages to the importance of remineralising your water for optimal pH, we give you all the essential info to choose the right system for your needs. Discover the benefits of alkalising filters and why a five-stage system or seven-stage might be the best option for clean, mineral-rich water.
What are the benefits of a Reverse Osmosis system?
- Removes more contaminants than any other water filter
- Cheaper and cleaner than bottled water
- Baking, cooking and coffee tastes better
- Best option available for fluoride and chlorine
- Affordable
- Amazing tasting Water
Reverse Osmosis systems make tap water safe to drink, simple as that.
Unlike all other filtration methods, which remove targeted contaminants from your drinking supply and leave other harmful substances behind, the powerful purification process of Reverse Osmosis removes almost all types found in Australian public supplies with ease.
RO systems can remove;
- fluoride,
- lead,
- chlorine and chloramine,
- pesticides,
- heavy metals,
- nasty parasites,
- nitrates and sulfates,
- detergents and more.
Reverse Osmosis also creates acidic water, which can be helpful if you’re targeting specific health challenges with acidic water.
However, our most popular RO systems elevate the pH of the water after it has been radically purified by the membrane.

What are the drawbacks of a Reverse Osmosis system?
There are a few downsides to Reverse Osmosis systems, let's go through them one by one.
Needs Occasional Maintenance
Most water filters do need some attention every once in a while. More specifically, they need cartridges changed every 6 to 12 months or so, depending on your water usage and other circumstances (for example, sediment level in your local water supply).
Reverse Osmosis systems also include a membrane, and many of them a storage tank, both of which needs a little maintenance occasionally.
Produces water slowly (200mls per minute)
Due to the nature of RO systems (they filter the water through a very fine membrane) they are rather slow filtering water.
Removes Essential Minerals
These systems filter the water so thoroughly that they actually remove most of the beneficial minerals from the water as well. This is not a huge problem though as most systems remineralise the water again via a process called 'remineralisation'.
Water Wastage
When you use Reverse Osmosis, the membrane splits the water in half, sending half down the drain and half into your storage tank for consumption.
Acidic Water
Because Reverse Osmosis strips all dissolved solids from the water, it leaves the water in a very acidic stage. For this reason, we don’t recommend Reverse Osmosis for rainwater.
Consuming acidic water creates all sorts of problems for your health, so we do not recommend drinking water below 7pH.

Best Reverse Osmosis Water Filters In 2024
Reverse Osmosis Water Filters are the best way to purify your drinking water from the many contaminants that pollute our water supply in Australia.
HPF 7 Stage Reverse Osmosis Under Sink Water Filter
The HPF 7 Stage RO system is a highly effective Reverse Osmosis water filter but has a few unique extras that other RO systems don’t, such as;
T-300 Hydrogen Rich High Alkaline Cartridge
The HPF7 is one of the only alkalising filters in the world that can raise and retain a constant pH between 8.5 and 9.5 for 12 months or longer. This unique cartridge is made of pure sub-nanometer minerals and contains pure magnesium to provide superior pH stability in the high alkaline range.
Life Energy Ceramic (FAR Infrared)
Infrared emitting frequency balls activate the water molecules, making the water far more readily available for the body’s consumption.
Magnetic Water Energizer (Never needs replacing)
The negative diffusing technology activates negative energy in the water. Many customers are using this technology to reduce kidney stones and calcification of the arteries.
Other benefits to drinking negatively charged water include detoxifcation, weightloss, lowered cholestrol, and improved bone health.
HPF 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis Under Sink Water Filter
The HPF 5 Stage Reverse Osmosis unit is just as effective as the 7, but without the luxuries of magnetic water energising, hydrogen-rich alkaliser, and energy emitting frequency balls. The water you create with the 5-stage unit will still be high-alkaline, but just not as great for your body’s cells and all your chakras.
