This was taken from a recent UNICEF article, which really struck home with the team at My Water Filter. Our team members are all dedicated to 'Healthy Living' and we take our passion further by helping those in need. And when we are faced with the shocking reality of what's happening out there in the world, we can't help but be thankful for organisations such as The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), who are making the world a better place. Organisations like the UNICEF gives businesses like ourselves a chance to be Water Warriors along their side. UNICEF aims to save and improve children's lives by providing immunisations, clean, nutrition, education, emergency relief and more. The UNICEF Tap Project is something that UNICEF has been running for 8 years and it has helped many children around the world in regards to gaining access to clean water. This year, 2014, the UNICEF Tap Project launched a way to encourage people to engage and help save a child's life…. by putting down their phones.How it works:
They have set up a mobile-friendly site for phones which you can easily access from your smartphone. Once open, for every ten minutes you don't touch your phone, UNICEF can provide one day of clean water to a child in need. It uses the sensory function in smartphones to know if you touched it or not. It's quite a challenge if you are like most and are constantly on your phone all day. So naturally, our at My Water Filter has decided to be ‘Water Warriors’ for today and are doing the challenge. As a team, our mission is to clock up as many days as possible today.
