Good day folks, Rod from My Water Filter here today. I just want to show you a quick video and hopefully to save you a dollar, because this is something that happens from time to time, not very often, but it does happen. And as you can see, we just got the twin whole-house here, wouldn't matter if it was a triple or whatever sort of water filter it was. It's just a little rule that you need to stick by when you're changing these cartridges, especially on these big 20 inches.
Now, I'll show you the issue before we start, and that's the issue there. And the issue is that the top has been broken out of the cartridge. It should look like that. Alright, nice round hole, washer on the edge, she's ready to go, but it's been pushed in. And how the customer did that was that he just wasn't aware and he had the cartridge on an angle as he was screwing it up and the stump in the housing holder has pushed straight through the bottom.
So I'll put that one down for a sec. This is the house that has enough this water filter here. And inside there's just a little stem, okay? And that stem centralizes the cartridge, so it's got that ring on the bottom to seal on the washer. And you've got to get that cartridge to fit over the stem. So with that stem inside, it's gotta fit onto that hole there, okay? So I've got a new cartridge here, as you can see it's in good condition, we're gonna put it in.
So to put it in, I hold it vertical, and then I'll slide the cartridge in, you can set it on the ground as required, but you can feel it, and you'll feel it sit onto that lug, and then you keep the cartridge vertical, straight up and down, as you're going to install it. On the inside of the cap here, there's fingers, and that actually holds the cartridge in position as you screw it up, okay? So it all goes together perfectly and you should never have any dramas, but we just wanna do our best to help the customers here. So then you'll hold it nice and vertical, and just slip it up underneath there.
Now if you just hold it there and screw it on by hand, always nice to have a little bit of grease around the thread and that will ensure that it screws on enough very easily, but as you can see, while I'm talking, just gently, gently, it's just screwing on by hand, and that's gonna screw all the way up on the thread, 'cause this is well lubricated, and that's what you do, you do them all the way by hand. If you have to use this tool doing what I'm doing now, something is wrong and stop and check it.
So as you can see, I'm still going and it's still just doin' up so easy by hand. If it's not going like this, it needs some tension. You'd run the tool up, and just watch, tiny inch and a half to two inches, depends on how lubricated it is, but that's it, she's done, our ring's seated, and its' sealed. Thanks very much.
